Mexico Religious Association Approved

Santisima Trinidad Lutheran Church is receiving its official “Religious Association” status from the Mexican government! Soon after, all the Juarez Lutheran churches will be able to join the association. It has been a long process, but Pastor Hernandez of Santisima Trinidad Lutheran church in Juarez received official notice that their application has been approved and they will receive their registration number in a ceremony in Mexico City in June. This status means that the Mexico churches will be able to have their properties registered under the association rather than under the names of individuals. They will be able to accept tax exempt donations in Mexico, establish schools, and more. St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Barrington, IL, has pledge $5,000 to help with legal fees and travel necessary for the finalizing of the process this June.
